This is my Rumble Bee as the Level 3 certification motor lights on the
pad. I certified using the Animal Motor Works M1350 White Wolf.
As the rockets lifted off the grass around the pad also ignited, but was put
out quickly by the FITS staff.
The Rumble Bee boosted straight under the power of the M1350. Because
there was a slight breeze I aimed the rocket a few degrees off vertical.
The chutes got a little tangled on the way down, but the recovery really
could not have been any better. The AltAcc reported 8524 feet
maximum altitude and the Rumble Bee landed not more than 50 yards from the LCO table.
The only other rocket I flew at FITS this year was my 3/4 scale AMRAAM using
an Animal Motor Works L1060 Green Gorilla. Because of the wind, it
landed about a mile down range.
Here is a picture of Jane from ACME caught red handed trying to steal my
AMRAAM.
This is Michael Dennis' Nike flying on a 6 grain Pro54 Cesaroni motor.
It was an awesome flight to just over 7k ft, then about 4 mins of
skywriting (the good kind) as the cold smoke canister spewed orange smoke
for the entire descent!
Here is Michael Dennis' Nike on the way down. He attached a marine
cold smoke device which made his Nike into a Skywriter on the way down.
This is Bob Yanecek's Rocket named "Dual 38 flying on a Kosdon I-130.
When he recovered it the

This is Jim Wilkerson's Hell Bent for Leather 2 flying on an
M1939.
Another shot of Hell Bent for Leather 2. It flew to 9100 ft. It's
main chute didn't deploy fully, but soft-dirt landing produced only some
minor fin damage.
