The first step was to trim the top of the airframe to give myself an even edge to work with. I also cut out the piston ejection system that was originally used.  I did this because that is the only way I would be able to insert a coupler tube to make the repair.  After the repair is complete, I plan to use altimeter deployment, the altimeter will be located in the payload section.
